The (SCHA) amends section 485(f) of the Higher Education Act, otherwise known as the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). Notably, the bill also changes the name of the Clery Act to the “Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act”, representing the Act’s evolution in addressing broad campus safety needs.
Components of the Stop Campus Hazing Act :
- Inclusion of hazing statistics in annual security reports.
- Implementation of hazing policies, including those specific to hazing prevention.
Compilation of a Campus Hazing Transparency Report (including name of organization, general description of incident, and significant dates).

HAZING
Any intentional, knowing, or reckless act committed by a person, individually or with others, against another person, regardless of the victim's willingness to participate, that:
- Is committed during initiation into, affiliation with, or maintenance of membership in a student organization
- Causes or creates a risk of physical or psychological injury beyond what is considered reasonable for participation in the institution or organization.
STUDENT ORGANIZATION
An organization at an institution of higher education, such as a club, society, association, athletic team, fraternity, sorority, band, or student government, comprising two or more students, regardless of whether the organization is officially recognized by the institution.

Hazing Compliance Form
- All Registered Student Organizations must complete the Hazing Compliance Form during the student organization registration and re-registration processes.
- All fraternity and sorority active members must sign the Hazing Compliance Form at the beginning of each academic year.
New Member Registration Form
All fraternity and sorority new members must agree to the university’s hazing policies upon completion of the New Member Registration Form
